The fact is that Congressman McCaul came to the defense of two young boys and that Americans should be thankful that Congressman McCaul, with his expertise in counter-terrorism for the Justice Department, recognizes this evolving national security concern and is doing something about it.
It is documented that the Jamia Binoria SITE madrassa, where the two American boys were, has firm ties to the Taliban. Both the Binoria SITE madrassa, where the children were held, and the Taliban, are of the Deobandi fundamentalist sect. The Taliban is known by the U.S. government as well as independent researchers to recruit from Deobandi madrassas including Binoria and train their recruits as terrorists. It is documented that Deobandi leaders have provided personnel to the Taliban’s fight against US forces in Afghanistan. Any Americans who are among the Taliban recruits represent a potential threat to the United States because of their unfettered access to this country.
Anyone who understands this is disappointed in CNN’s coverage of a legitimate national security concern. Its report failed to state that it became illegal to enroll foreign students in Pakistani madrassas after it was discovered that British citizens of Pakistani decent who were educated in madrassas were among the suicide bombers who carried out the London Subway bombings in 2005. And even though CNN has exclusive rights to Imran Raza’s documentary, “Karachi Kids”, the report failed to give an accurate portrayal of the changed mindset of several American students. It elected not to show footage of interviews conducted with the students in March 2008 in which they denounced America and said they were convinced that no Muslims contributed to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and that no Jews died in it.
