FUBAR-Cam Update

You'll seldom get to read about the stuff Democrats and Republicans agree on. The lack of a fight isn't very interesting, and even if reporters thought it was, a banner headline reading, "Democrats and Republicans Come Together" wouldn't sell many newspapers. Not that many newspapers are being sold these days anyway.

Last night's Texas Medal of Arts awards dinner and show in Austin was one place where it all came together, because Democrats and Republicans can all agree that support for the arts is important - to the economy, to education, to tourism, to state clout, and by any other measure.

Spotted in the crowd at last night's event were Laura Bush, Rick Perry, David Dewhurst, Joe Straus, Troy Fraser, Robert Duncan, Donna Howard, Ruth McClendon, and many others who duke it out against each other in the Capitol every day. But everybody had a great time last night.

Here's a photo of the big finish - on stage performing together, Los Lonely Boys, Ray Benson, and Clint Black.

Well that was certainly boring.

yeah, that was kind of my point. Except the part about the music - THAT certainly wasn't boring. The fact that everybody was getting along? Totally boring.
