Buzz from the TV show

Since we’re already sick and tired of the Presidential race, on last Thursday’s Capital Tonight on YNN-TV in Austin, the subject turned to the U.S. Senate race to replace the retiring Kay Bailey Hutchison. My comments will probably not please either Democrats or whoever is running David Dewhurst’s campaign.

You can see the entirety of last week’s show here, an episode which also features Mean Rachel.

And on the subject of Lt. Governor Dewhurst’s campaign, why take my word for it? He’ll be our guest on this Thursday’s Capital Tonight, when you can see for yourself what he has to say. Tune in live on YNN Austin this Thursday at 6 pm, or watch it Thursday night at 10, Sunday morning at 11, or at any time on the web.

Hmmm, if by “interesting primary” you mean expensive. Since John Cornyn already holds elective office, I can’t imagine a much less interesting personality on the Republican side than senatorial candidate David Dewhurst. McCaul has the chops and the cash to take this one away from the hapless Dewhurst.

And on the democratic side…well, as you said, we’ve got nothin. The General makes Cornyn’s personality look positively incandescent.

    Yup.
No reason to think that the Dems’ record in statewide races is going to change in 2012.

The GOP ought to see how weak and lifeless of a candidate they can run and still win statewide office in Texas. Maybe run an actual dog or fencepost…

(I say that assuming they haven’t, which might be a stretch…)
